1986 Celica GT starting problems
Every once and a while this car will just make a clicking sound and will not start while attempting to start it and other times it starts right up. Most of the time if I give it a minute after it does it's clicking thing it will start right up. In fact this car was originally given to me because of it doing this. A friend of the family just bought a new Toyota. I see no breaks in the wires, it has a new starter and battery. I was wondering if it could be the ignition swich, a relay switch or something, etc. Any ideas? I want to get the car ready to autoX it. Thanks all for your help.

Could definitely be the ignition switch...tough call. Honestly, why don't you take it to Toyota of Tampa Bay? They cater to the enthusiast pretty well there. Depends how much you want to sink in to the car I guess. I'm just always suspect of local mom n pop type garages ya know? You get what you pay for...
