mturbo2 has done a 3sgte drop in his garage, but the car was already a nonturbo with a 3sgte in it. him and mr2driver will be able to do it however. also, the n/a motor doesnt have a "downpipe", so im not sure wut u r talking about there. the 3sgte will bolt right onto the n/a tranny. the clutch will hold but prob not for long and yes u will need the ecu to get it to run.

hahaha ghetto 3sgte swap!!!!!!!!!!!!

heres the deal

5sfe trans will work, 5sfe clutch will work, but not for very long. Might as well get a clutch. ACT stage 2 at the very least.

Yes you need a 3sgte ecu. The motor will not run without it. You also need a complete 3sgte wiring harness from the same year as the motor and ecu. You will also need a 91+ 3sgte passenger side axle, and I am not positive, but you may also need a hub from a 3sgte model as well for that side.

The na exhaust will not bolt to the 3sgte downpipe/cat. It is in a different spot, you will need muffler shop help to finegle that together. Better off asking the mr2 message board for a stock turbo exhaust for $100 shipped, which I am sure you will have no problem finding.

Is the 3sgte complete? what are you gettiing with the motor?

Considering that a 91 ecu harness (by itself) will cost you $100, getting both the ECU and harness for a $150 is a damn good price. In regards to the na exhaust, you will have to fabricate something to make the b-pipe and dp come together. Good luck finding one on line because most ppl just throw their old exhaust away. If you by chance are able to get a couple of hundred bucks together (about $300) you can usually find a used apexi N1 or some other aftermarket exhaust that somebody is trying to get rid of. I have a buddy that might have kept his stock exhaust. I will call him tomorrow and see if he still has it and let you know. If you need any additional help let me know. I would be glad to help you out.

that would be great,
however, i love my exhaust
its got chrome tips weilded to it, plus a hole which actually makes the car sound real nice, and i like it,
the engine is coming with the pipe though, but no muffler,
and money s a HUGE issue guys,
i'm olny 18 and work about 13 hours a week, lol so 30 bucks is a few months of work for me
LOL
sowwe
like i bought the engine and a veilside bodykit and both toms scoops,
so now i got 200 bucks left, and as mark says i need a clutch and the other stuff, and i'm like ohh fuck, lol
i got to sell sme of my old shit
thanxs guys

Dont forget you need the intercooler, piping, bov, etc. 150 for the harness and ecu is really good as well.

What year is the motor? How many miles are on it?
