Turbo Tacoma megasquirt question
My tacoma is turboed and it currently has 2 piggybacks that arent doing a good enough job. Ive thought about standalones but they can be pricey and tough to install since theres no plug n play for tacomas really.
So, are there any shops here that work with toyotas that could install a megasquirt for a fairly decent price?
thanks for the info

as for shops, idk. installing a megasquirt isnt very hard. if you buy the wire harness with 12ft leads, all the wires are labeled for what they do. hardest part will be finding a stock wire with +12V THAT IS IGNITION SWITCHED AND ON DURING CRANKING, AND THAT SHOULDNT TAKE MORE THEN SAY 10MIN. oops caps

williamb i talked to you before about the install here on tamparacing. i wish you could have installed it for me back then, cause i ended up spending money on piggybacks. now they arent doing the job.
im not good with wiring, thats why i dont wanna tackle the project myself.

nah, no way i could build it and install it in a week in my spare time. especially since id have to research what kind of crank/cam signal your engine puts out to see how to setup the megasquirt for it etc... and then shipping for the parts to arrive etc..

why piggyback it? the ms3 is a full standalone. though if your truck is auto, all you have to keep to the stock ecu for it to run the trans is power, grounds, the trans wires, tps sig, and the crank/cam triggers. i dont think the maf signal is even needed for the trans to shift so should be able to remove that. basically. youd end up just unplugging the injector connectors and connectors from the coils(leave the stock ignitor connected) and run the ms3 to them. then either tap into the stock crank and cam signals or run a 36-1 trigger wheel and vr sensor, and tap into the signal wire for the tps and run a vac line for your map sensor etc... if you want knock feedback you can tap int othe knock sensors at the ecu itself.
or if you want fuel only control. tap into the tach line from the ignitor for your rpm sig, tap int othe tps, and run your map sensor, then unplug the stock injector connectors and make a harness to plug into them and the needed power/grounds leaving the stock ignition system alone.
