speedometer is off because your diff is a diffrent ratio then a supra or w.e the w58 came out of him.

Did you inspect the tranny at all?

hey, i recently sold a w58 to someone with a truck and i think it might be you. i dont know why it would have any issues, it shifted and ran great when pulled from the last car it was in (my baby, 76 celica coupe)

what are you using for transmission fluids, also are you sure the clutch pedal is adjusted properly?

if the transmission is indeed defective, i would gladly take the tranny back and give you a refund.

w's feel a bit sloppy no matter how fresh they are. it sounds like it might be a pedal issue

Sorry this is a wasted post, and hopefully the issue is resolved but what I quoted really shows how good some people are on here. Rep'd, man!

if you put synthetic fluid in it drain it out and use reg crappy walmart gear oil. itll shift better. synthetic usually doesnt allow the synchros to grab. sounds like the problem your having honestly. ive dealt with this on r154's many times.

as for the speedo issue, you need to find out what rear diff gears you have and get the speedo gears to match for the trans. they are kind of a pita to change.

definitly pita to install the gears... just find a 3.43 gear for the rearend... wouldnt celicasupra R&P's work? i think william would be the one to ask.

the trucks are all geared to high anyway. i ran a 4.33 on my 22r in the celica kinda sucked on the highway but nothing horrid
