ok well I am attempting it right now and so far so good, except for a couple of things. with the above sentence, do you mean to line up the marks on the timing belt with the timing gear that's behind the crank pulley ? i see two marks on the timing belt, but i don't see any marks on the timing gear.

the timing marks for the timing gears are on the sheetmetal piece that goes behind the gears, its just the 2 spots on each side where its creased. (there should also be a crease in the center)
