Default Camry + V6 Tranny = Axle Carrier Problems?

Im sticking a E153 (V6 Camry) tranny in my I4 5sfe. Im worried about the i4 axle carrier. The V6 axles are bigger and wont fit the i4 carrier bearing. Im not sure if the V6 bearing will fit in the motor mount where the i4 bearing is beiong held. If it doesnt, what can I do about this? custom or what.

Custom up a mount using the V6's carrier, or machine down the axels to fit. But why are you using the V6 E153 for the 5SFE? The gearing of it is way to high. Your best bet would be to use one of the S series trannys.

3sgte comes in 6 months after the tranny swap, I want to make sure I get all my tranny problems out of the way before hand if possible.

Gotcha. I'll actually have a 3S for sale out of my MR2 complete with CT20b steel wheel turbo and 3" downpipe very soon if you're interested.

Haha, I have no idea what all you would need as I've never read up on a 3S swap into a Camry. The turbo and downpipe alone are worth about $900, but damn does it pull nice all the way to redline. If you just wanted the engine without the turbo and downpipe (check out MR2 Owners Club Message Board&#8482 for cheap CT26's and people will practically give away the stock turbo elbow/downpipe) I could sell it pretty cheap. The reason I'm selling it is because I'm going V6 turbo.

sounds like a good plan.

Whats involved? more than celica/mr2 swap lol.
Besides just getting the engine with all the snesors, igniter, brackets, hoses etc, I need the ecu, uncut wireharness (mod that into my 5sfe one), custom front motor mount, custom rear motor mount and axle carrier, depends on the engine i get which means a custom side mount. Also need a FMIC, weld up the piping for that. I think i may need a custom downpipe because the camry subframe is different. Then I need to replace my camry hubs to V6 ones to fit the new axles.

sounds like a bitch? why to a camry? cheaper than finding an equally mint condition MR2/Alltrac compared to the camry. It has stuff on it I dont want to change, i like the car... and well i dont want to pay more for insurance haha.

Wow, sounds like a lot of work, but it should be fun. The only things on my motor that I will be reusing are my alternator, ac compressor and wiring harness, but those shouldnt be to hard to find. I'm going standalone, so I won't need the ECU. Let me know if you're interested. I already have it out of my car.

I don't think that I'm using any for my swap, I'm sure I can get them for you if I do though. I honestly don't know how much 3S's go for. Let me check, I'll make it cheaper for sure though. I don't want to ship the motor anywhere and a local buyer is soo much easier.
