Ok, I did some research. How does $1400 sound for the motor, ecu, ct20 turbo and 3" downpipe and whatever bits I have leftover? Or I could let the motor and ecu go for $500. It's the turbo and downpipe that are pricy since the turbo is from a 3rd gen and its a upgraded downpipe. You'll have to come pick it all up, it's located in Lutz. Let me know =).

how many miles are on it?

is that 500 for all the bits and pieces minus the turbo/dp? I honestly dont think the DP will fit, the camry subframe is different. I think ill buy a new turbo while im at it. So if you keep the turbo/dp is it 500 for all of it or what?

Your 40min away, not bad at all.

About 140k. Last year I refreshed all the gaskets, seals, timing belt and headgasket. The motor pulled real strong and smooth. It will include everything but the turbo and downpipe if that's what you want. Again, I'm using the wiring harness (you can buy those off of the mr2 board) alternator and ac compressor (i think you can reuse your 5sfe ones). It will come with the ecu. I can even throw in a 91 3s tranny if you want, but it grinds 2nd and 3rd (a common problem with the early e153 trannys). Good to keep as a spare, or if you want to rebuild it.

Info on the seals. what brand were used? Another question, your modding the v6 harness into your 3sgte harness, right? what are you doing with the rest of it when its not used? just curious.

Also when is the time frame of you doing this? Im getting an engine lift/holder soon.

Also which years of the MR2 had the gen3 in it? Im trying to source a harness and add my expenses to see if it justifys my cost. thanks

The seals are all stock Toyota.

I don't know what will be left of the harness, but you're more than welcome to it.

The motor is already out of the car, but I still need to remove the harness and whatnot. Should be done in a week or two.

The gen3 motor only came in jdm cars and started in 93. The only reason to go with the gen3 wiring harness would be to remove the AFM.

Oh really? Mind if I come down maybe this week to have a look at it? not sure what day, its just an idea.

What would I have to do to use a gen2 harness on a gen3 motor?

I'd have to check with my friend, since my car/engine is at his place, but sounds good.

I don't know why you'd want to use a gen2 harness on a gen3 motor. You'd need the gen2 ecu, afm, and whatever other odds and ends. The gen3 is slightly more powerful due to upgraded cams, map sensor instead of afm, intake manifold and better flowing head so you'd really need to use the gen3 ecu on a gen3 motor unless you tune it. It's probably not gonna be easy to find someone willing to part with their gen3 harness either since they're not very common. Last time I saw one for sale, it was ~$500 including the ecu.

My motor is usdm gen2 with the gen3 turbo.

haha, im slow i read it wrong. Okay its a USDM Gen 2. Makes it easier to find a harness then.

Do you know if your going to use the plug that goes into the ECU for the body clip? thanks

I'm pretty sure that I won't be using that plug, but I could be wrong. I'll check and get back to you.
