although i have no idea how your example makes any sense lol.... sorry about that i read it wrong...actually you used the word SHORTER...which could be taken as shorter or longer...or shorter or taller... apparently i picked the wrong one lol.....and i really just wanted to post those pics for the guy who started the thread.

I want to go with a 1jz but it seems like I can get 7m alot easier, I seen one in the juk yard and thought about doing a stock rebuild with all arp hardware how do the stock pistons and rods hold up at around 400 on race gas 300 on pump thats where my goals are set at. 300-350 on pump also what kind of turbo should I be looking at? I appreciate all the help guys

7M ALL THE WAY,ESPECIALLY IF YOUR GOING TO put it in a older Z car!!! as loing as the motors fresh and in good shape, just to a 60-1 ct26, 680's, megasquirt, n/a cams, 1j style intake mainfold and your over 400hp at the wheels!! with soo much tq you could sell some of it to a 1j owner!!!! ahahahahahahhaahahahah

Boy oh boy. Where is all the 1j love. Sometimes it does suck to find replacement parts because not EVERYTHING is interchangeable with the 2j.

I think the 7m suites the z better and would be more within your budge.

Now post pictures

how high can you rev a 7m with the right supporting mods Iam most likely going to go with a 300zx turbo brakes all the way around. I love these older 240s they are so compatible with newer model nissans.

if you start ou with a 86-early 89 block you can rev it to 7k all day. the late 89 and after blocks had a different crank with bigger couner weights that you can't rev as high as the earlier blocks. the 7m's up until 89 were actually 6m botom ends, but after the changeover they started using the 7m botom end.
