that car has no LSD... NA+Auto-TEMS=no LSD peg-leg burnouts will own joo...

id at least hold otu for a 5sp NA... less shit to swap in the end. plus youll have about 25fewer wires in the engine harness to deal with and wont have to F with the NSW stuffs.

that guy has been trying to get rid of this car for a while now... me and a friend were going to check it out for the hell of it to see if it was worth buying... back then it needed mechanical work. so the guy may have fixed it since then. next time you go look at it, take the radiator cap off and THEN start it... youll know if there is a BHG right away when bubbles/coolant starts to come out.

Offer the guy half of what he is asking. the worst he can do is say no and tell you what he wants to get out of the car.

in all honesty, an Automatic NA MK3 is about worthless. the entire drivetrain is useless... and if its a Non-Sport, which this is, the entire suspension isntworth a poo either. just look at it as a Rolling chassis/shell and thats all youre going to be able to retain when you start modding. so the rest of the shit that is coming with the "Shell" is going to be junked ultimately and will have no value; 7MGE, A340E, NA driveshaft, Open 4.30 Diff, non-tems suspension, 7MGE ECU, Harness... all sorts of stuff that really wont do you any good doing turbo stuffs.

Yeah, normally I wouldnt be as stoked about it if it werent what I was looking for visually (89+ is better so that I dont have to swap out tails and spoiler, although spoiler would have to go for an 89+) its white exterior with blue cloth interior.

yes, its an N/A auto (I was going to offer $800 anyways), but I've been talking around on seeing what I could do to fix it..Poppa smurf has a 7M-GTE already hooked up to a R154 and even a MHG with ARP studs, so I might get that, he also mentioned something about maybe getting 2 more parts cars so I may get one. I figured with someone watching me, we could fix the rod bearing in the driveway. He said the headgasket was fine when he checked with a mechanic. Andy also said he'd sell me a W58, R154, both bellhousings, and another 7M-GE for quite a good price.

It is a sport package though...targa top, and IIRC the 89 N/As with sport package had pre89 spoilers and the turbos had 89+. It isnt TEMS though (omg the horror )

All in all, if this doesnt work out then I should be fine still...hell theres a nearby 86.5 white hardtop 5spd with blue cloth interior that I checked out a looong time ago that they said they could sell it to me...so I guess I'm kinda lucky. I guarentee all of you that I WILL have a working 7M-GTE before my 16th b-day, April 3rd

 

1) that car aint worth shit
2) it doesnt have a sports package if it doesnt have tems...period... have you gotten underneath and looked and even driven it to find out? i HIGHLY DOUBT that car has a LSD
3) fix a rod knock in your driveway? doubtful....unless it was shutoff and not driven since the first hint of knock...otherwise its whole new engine or COMPLETE rebuild time...

4) either way good luck...but i think with THIS car youll be getting in way over your head for now...

 

Well I know it doesnt have TEMS because it didnt have the strut tower modulater things nor did it have the buttons next to the arm rest.

I havent driven it...for obvious reasons. Having not actually driven remotely fast cars remotely fast at all, I wouldnt know the difference (LSD or not) unless if I did a burnout. But it sounds like it doesnt have it anyways. But it was pretty much shut off and left alone after the knock it sounds like.

I've pretty much given up on the car I guess. Sorry for yelling if you wanted it...you can take it..

 

its worth a grand if you know how to work on a car. to hell with the 7M motor! its is a piss poor design and goes through head gaskets like cheap condoms. find a 1jz, will take some looking to find a good inexpensive (1800-2500) clip. the parts availability wont be as spectacular but it is more reliable and a hell of a lot more powerful (1/4 mi: 7MGE = 16 sec, 7MGTE =15.2, 1JZ = 14.2). i should have mine done by the summer.

 

I ran mine at 14.0 @102 with the 373 rear end. Others have gone 13.4 stock on the 373 as well
