Default Is300

I have been back and forth on what to buy....first I thought I wanted a wrx, than a s13 converted 240, than a lightning, than another mk3.....but, I have finally made up my mind...I want something classy...but not too classy...something sporty but won't kill me on insurance. So I decided on a is300 with the srt stage I turbo kit. The settlement money won't be in for another month so I'll have to wait til than. I was wondering if anyone knew a shop who would install the turbo kit for a good price.

Having a Turbo is300 myself. The only person I would have install that kit would be LArry@Innovations performance. It is def a tricky car to work on and Larry has done everything from swapping my motor to doing my 6spd supra tt tranny conversion. Only downside is that he is in Orlando. But when dealing with this type of car its def worth the drive and he will give you the fastest turnaround time. Not to mention he has a tuner, Hector who is familiar with dialing in the car and tunning the is300 on the dyno.

PS- feel free to PM me . I know a great deal of info with this car..It has taken me to hell and back.

Being that the VVT-i is basically a N/A 2jz, why don't the supra kits the VVT-i?

Well the VVT-i came on just more than the 2j's. Its sorta like Vtec on hondas. The turbo and n/a 1j's and 2j's even had it on some of them. its just a big pain in the ass when you start to modify it. Thats probalby why a turbo "kit" is not offered for a car with the vvt-i. If your car does have VVT-i and no one offeres a nice bolt on kit you will probably have to faboricate your own. Its completely possibile just will make it a pain in the ass.

must be a nice settlement to be able to vary from a 6,000 s13 (swaped) to a 20 something thousand dollar car , why not just get a viper?

any car is trickey to work on when you don't know what your doing or know nothing about cars. Toyota's in my experience are some of the easiest cars too work on. turbo'ing any n/a car is not easy, running of turbo lines, drilling/tapping, wiring. its all in just getting the drill down and learning the little steps to make it easier. if it was my car i would do it myself, but if i had to pay someone i would make sure its somewhere close. so that way if you do end up having a problem you don't have to pay or call AAA and get the car towed out of town. there are plenty of good shops in the tampa area to choose from.

Actually, I was going to go with the 400whp swap from Xat (11,500) than suspension,paint,wheels/tires,conversion kit, brakes, actual shell.....all in all it came to around 20 reguardless...I bounced around...but I'm final on this. Its a well balanced car for what I'm going to use it for.
