I was actually being serious to some extent. I was suggesting the boyfriend or whatever person disconnect the rod jounals seperating the rods from the crank. I have heard of someone doing this to another MR2 owner, that is why I suggested it. More then likely it is a timing belt issue which has already been stated. Good luck.
