older mr2?
Hey I got a question for you guys, I am very interested in buying a SW20 MR2 but the only thing that is worring me is how hard it is to work on the motor. I mean is the top latch the only way to get to the motor, seems kind of impossible to work on the stuff down in there.

lol... the MRS is a piece of shit and shouldnt even be considred an MR2.
the "older" MR2 will always be known as an AW11, the old school boxy MR2's that were either NA or SC back in 88. the ones w/ a 4AGE.
the "Newer" MR2 will always be known as an SW20, the new school roundy MR2's taht were either NA or turbo all years. the ones w/ the the 5SFE or the 3SGTE.
the "New" MR2 is a 3rd gen that was only available in Japan w/ the bad ass, map-based 3SGTE motor that can make some sick power w/ just a boost controller.
the MRS is just a lame attempt at reviving the M/R line w/ an ugly ass car. and its going to be forever-known as a chick car to me, like cavaliers, saturns and neons.
real men drive fast cars... unless they are broken and are forced to drive the slow back-up cars. then, and only then, are cavaliers, neons, saturns, and MR-S' acceptable as a guy car.
i dont think its any coincidence that the MR-S is essentially "MRS" w/o the hypen, the surname for a married woman "Missus" or to inicate ownership of the mister or "mister's"... abbreviated "Mrs."

You dotn hear too many people talking about owning them bc there arent too many of them around(compared to alot of other tuner cars out there). They are kind of expensive to buy, aftermarket parts are expensive and they are expensive to fix. They are cool little cars tho.
