Umm....I'm not...planning to swap a 1JZ into a Mk3....anytime...ever....only for a little over a year now...

Sorry, I just thought this was common knowledge. Oh, and I wanted to do this even before I knew Andy existed, let alone after riding with him

Yeah definatly. not that xat isn't completely capable of doing it, but somtimes shops dont put in the little details and make sure its done 100% right.

I can vouch for andys car and work. He was also a great help when we had little problems.

im not so sure having any shop do your swap is a good thing. you need to find someone w/ attention to detail... like me... or andy. or me and andy.

IIRC, XAT did the HG job on psifactor's supra. the previous owner took it there. hes drives a 95 240 now, kinda tall and lanky, has a hott asian girlfriend who's dad owns a junkyard so he gets the hookup on parts. but, once i pulled the 7M that they did the HG on, i found BOTH knock sensors were broken. and the Knock sensor connectors on the harness had the pieces that were broken off stuck inside them. so the car ran w/o knock sensors. after he told us that it ran great for about a week but started blowing smoke all of a sudden; now i see why.

im not anti-XAT. some good people work/ed there. its just minor details like that which can slip by. fortunatly, i had all the time in the world, so to speak, to complete the swap so i made it a point to double check everything i did... cuz i know it would be 10 times as hard and time consuming to go back if i had to re-do it.

im up for doin swaps on the side. i work crazy hours though and i know andy does too. but between me and him, im sure 3 days worth of work could git'r dun. now, finding 3 days in a row for me to commit to a project is difficult.

Bah i already paid them to get it done... Well i'll see whats up with it when i get it back. If i do need help with something else i'll be sure to hit you guys up.

I have 550cc blitz injectors. with the afc. I'm just trying to get 400-450 to the wheels. Maybe more later but for now thats my goal. Plan to do a little drag (just to get an idea of good shift points and stuff for straightaways) but i want to get into autocross and road racing.

Right now i'm thinking of a t3/t04e. Heard it has a decent spool rate and can hit the numbers i want. But i'm always up for suggestions. If you guys have any i would be glad to hear them.

thanks,
chae

FYI... you are referring to Mike. We never touched that car. He brought it by the shop to try and sell it to us, but we never did ANYTHING to it.

T3/T4's are too small, get a nice sized T4

a T3/T4 w/ a 1.06 exhaust AR is too small? i guarantee you that is too small for the 1J. we are probably gonna have to use a .63... or sell it. but if 2.0's, 2.2's, 2.4's and 2.6's can get away w/ t3/T4's, then so can a 2.5 and a 3.0. shit a T3/T4 isnt exactly a step down from the CT26, its at the very least a lateral move.

the answer isnt always "T4". thats like everyone's answer to "how do i make 1000HP?".. "get a 2JZ"

i think it was Mike who we bought the car off of. i coulda swore he said he brought it to XAT for a HG job. guess not. he didnt mention wanting to sell it to you guys. but i think Bill asked about the car or maybe somebody there suggested doing a swap... i dont know... its been a while since we last talked to him so i dont remember too good.
