blacktops are better for NA, better headdesign. you dont want to add FI to either one til u build the bottom ends, in which u still want a blacktop bc the head design is still better.

i can get both swaps, blacktops arent that much more and can be ran open.

my 20v swap goes in 1.5 weeks over at XAT and will be running on megasquirt and a ford DIS setup. 1st known blacktop in tampa.

as long as u run a oil cooler and dont run the piss out of it, ull be ok. im going to get a cheap oil filter relocation kit and run the stock oil cooler upfront.

This place is in sacramento CA though... shipping would probably be a bunch though...

Theres a place in orlando that sold a silvertop for $800 a few months ago, I never got the name of the place, but jake installed the engine for the guy into a mr2.

As for the blacktop having a better head design hows that? They are essentually the same. The blacktop is a little cleaner ports wise, but the only real difference is there is no quench zone in the combustion chamber. AGAIN differences that equate to about 5HP TOTAL including the bigger throttle bodies and better ecu.

I've never seen a blacktop for cheap, How much can you get them for?

u just answered it there, look at a comparison, thats where the extra 5hp is made. the larger TBs nor the ecu dont account for the extra power, its all made in the head. and on a NA motor that is pretty much maxed out as is, 5hp is a lot.

can you get a late 4agze block only? can I get a quote?

I'll agree the blacktop is a better engine, I've just always seen it priced WAY more than the silvertop and I didn't see it worth the extra money. If you can get it for a decient price, it would be the way to go.

i got mine for ultra cheap, bc i told my supplier that it was for me

the GZEs i can only get complete, IE motor, tranny, ecu.... im sure you could turn around and sell it all and make it to where the motor cost you virtually nothing

what are silvertop and GZE swaps selling for now-a-days anyway?
