Default Supra/SC300 help

Ok, my plan is to acquire one of these two cars and obviously modify the living shit out of it...

I was wondering what may or may not be a wise decision..

Purchase an N/A supra and boost it/build the bottom end even
Purchase an N/A supra and SWAP the GTE and the 6 sp into it
Purchase an SC300 and turbo that sucka
the same an SC 300 and SWAP whatever may be possible... be it the 6 sp and or gte for durability

What is going to be the easiest and most "cost effective" solution so to speak.. Im not saying im worried about the money so much, but Im not too sure on where to go, and if it is going to be pointless to just mess around with the N/A cars going boost, i would hit on the TT 6 sp....

thanks
Mark

AFAIK, a 2jz-gte clip will cost you around $5k. You can spend that money to turbo the NA and get ~400 rwhp. If you want more than 400 rwhp, then you probably want the 2jz-gte rather than rebuilding a 2jz-ge. IMHO.

na motor is good for 600ish at the wheels with a fatter head gasket, if you are trying to go further than 550ish safely, GTE swap....the W-58 i the n/a might be a possible weak point, ....wonder if theres a way to get an R-154 out of a MK3 turbo to fit in an MK4, much more cost effective, if not, you either need a built auto, or gotta bite the bullet and purchase the Getrag V-160 6 speed, and it is NOT cheap

Why not start with a 93-95 TT 6spd platform?

a 93-95 TT will still set you back almost 20 G's, a 5 speed SC300 can be found for $7000-$8000, and the Dave H turbo kit is about $4000-ish if i recall..

I think i will wind up with an MKIV TT just for simplicity's sake... all the "weakness" isnt too bad, but hell, if you have a turbo supra, and you ARENT above 500 rwhp, you havent spent enough money on turbos and now ive got a hook up w/titan motorsports
