What does it mean when....
im probably off by a mile, but this sounds like something some mitsubishi guys who are 1000% sure of their tuning abilities do in an effort to prevent their cars from pulling timing back cause of "phantom knock" events, if thats what its referring to, i strongly recommend against it, cause like it or not, the knock sensor really is your friend and has saved many a motor from melted pistons/burnt valves, so on so forth...like i said, thats if im even close to what your talking about, if not, well, then theres a little factoid of info you can use anyway

even with a standalone, a knock sensor will be needed, and then it becomes a $500 J&S...a stock knock sensor can be tuned around, you just have to find the bullshit thats throwing the phantom knock and do what you can to eliminate it

I'm not talking about "phantom knock", but I have heard of that from the DSM crowd before.
Yes, it came about from last night or whatever night lol
What causes a toyota oem knock sensor to short/break?

what i ment by that papa is that u can play with the sensitivity of a knock sensor on a stand alone so that u wont get phantom knock and will get the real stuffs...
