marks refering to the knock sencor dieing its self. carloses knock sensor pooped out going across the bridge sat night in a fun run.
the car never knocked atleast not that we could tell, and the timiming was never pulled. we pulled over to check it out and grab the code from the ecu. but thats all we could do in the parking lot so we stumbled the car home. the car is fine but the ecu went into safe mode so it dumped a ton of fuel and wont allow the car to go past about 1/4 throttle. (go past and it stumbles)

 

A) Toyota designs the knock sensor to short circuit when it sees accessive knock. It kinda is good and bad in a way, it saves your motor, but the knock sensor is over $130 from toyota.

Carlos decided on the OEM knock sensor.

 

accaully he decided on eletomotive. he never fixed the knock sencor, none of the ones that where given to him worked. so he said fugit.
