Yea, that was john's supra. I shoulda ran mine but didnt for numerous reasons:
1) Vaccum/boost leak at injector grommets
2) Leaky rear end
3) Crankcase vent hose popped off and coated front driverside of engine w/ oil and was dripping
4) didnt have a ticket to run
5) couldnt afford to pull a Juiced
Other than that, i coulda ran and laid down some good times. John really had trouble getting out of the hole. his biggest problem was getting over zealous. as soon as the light dropped he just dumped the clutch. Every time i saw him, i kept sayin to myself "he needs to slip the clutch a little more". If he could have done that, he would have gotten out of the hole quicker and turned in a quicker time. but ~100mph traps are pretty good. im thinkin i woulda turned in ~104mph traps w/ my mods.
i wish john woulda let me driven his car... could turned in a 14.0, maybe even broke 13's,

That Mr2 is not perfect. it just makes some good power. the trans does not want to go into gears unless its done very slow, its open diff and will spin one wheel, then shift over to spinning the other wheel for a wile then go back again. and the boost is very spikey, nothing then a whole lot all a suddon. and the suspention is still stock aside from spings.
its not a car you can just hop in and drive right, maybe with some planned mods completed it will become easyer to handle.

If I was in town, I would have run the poopra. I've run a few 13.9's and a lot of 14.0's (Kinda embarassing for a mkiv tt). This is with an intake and downpipe (stock exhaust) and super heavy 19" wheels. Now that I'm running 17 psi I think I can expect low 13's.. maybe?

if he would have let me drive i could have run a 14flat or better! my mk3 ran a 14.1 with a blown head gasket. and he had a sollid 10psi of boost, the toyota crowed was not represented well.
