There are other options we can explore though. We like the classifieds the way they are, simple, easy to use.

Changes coming soon to make them easier to use we hope.

I care more about my sites traffic and the money in my pocket rather than keeping scammers and thieves out of the classifieds

I lol'd.

First up, you can't keep thieves and scammers out, and have free classifieds. Anytime you want to sign up for a monthly fee to use the classifieds, or pay everytime you list something, send me a PM.

Secondly, running this stuff aint cheap dude. It takes a beefy server, terrabytes of bandwidth a month and almost as many hours as I put into my day job to keep this site going. You guys have no idea how good you have it, you put up with a few banners (most of which are for non members) and an optional subscription and for that everything is pretty much free.

It's not like people like you give anything remotely resembling appreciation for the site back. Your a leech.

now get the fuck off my lawn.

Me first.

Why the hell would you make a minimum post count? Then everyone would turn to CL and this site would be dead.

Besides, people need to watch out for themselves. We're not talking about fucking kids here. These are adults who should know better then to send money to any random person.

^because it would get rid of alot of the crap? Seriously how many people do you see posting shit for sale that have under 100 post that are either A) someone previously banned with a new S.N. or B) their shit looks and sounds stolen?

If that's your view on things get better mods, the ones in Nissan Tech suck, it normally takes a week for a banned person to get rebanned after everyone post "ban evader" like 50 times in their threads, meanwhile they typically have already sold their shit. Alot of the supposed mods in Nissan Tech I haven't seen post in like a month.

if you have concerns with mods in a section, send a PM to scnat explaining (with examples if you can) what the problem is and he will try to take care of it. We just keep cycling through mods till we find ones that work.

Minimum post counts will most likely just lead to spam posting to the amount required. I've seen it in computer related forums and it results in more work to check and make sure a member's posts aren't all spam, and in the end it really seems to do more to discourage legitimate sellers more so than scammers.

Srtforums had a big problem with this and it seems their solution was to require certain information be disclosed in the FS ad. Scammers are like roaches, they prefer to hide in the dark and tend to scurry away when the spot light is on them; however I can't see any reason why a legitimate seller would have a problem disclosing some basic personal info.

Here's part of what's required to post a FS ad at srtforums(hope they don't mind the copy/paste):
A. For Sale Post format - All items for sale will use the following format:
What is your name(first & last)? :
What is your Email Address OR Contact PH #? :
What is your City? :
What is your State? :
What is your Zip code? :
Vin Number:

You can't force a person to type their info. and this would still require an admin to check every thread.
