i was running around 400hp on my stock tranny never had any problems till i went to a dog box now the only syncros i have in the tranny went out had to pay $1200 dollars to fix
my advice would be to ride the stock tranny till you can't anymore
i ve taken my scooby to the track countless number of times and launched it at full throttle and when mastro took out the stock gears 1st was fine 3rd was the only gear that was worn from highway downshifting

 

The only problem I have with my tranny is that it won't go into 1st over single digit speeds. I thought that was normal until I asked about it at the scooby meet on thursday. I KNOW that it's nothing I have done to the car. I've had this problem since day one, which is why I thought it was normal. I am very civil with my car and never go hard off the line. Never downshift to 1st, because it won't go and I don't want to force it.

Should I be talking to Subaru? Kyle?

your car is like that so you don't kill your car. You aren't supposed to downshift into first from speeds over 10, like billy said, maybe 15.

 

I dunno if it's over 10MPH(has to be) but I never have a problem downshifting into 1st while rolling.

 

I go to first at a slow roll, 10mph or less. If I really needed to get down there for some reason(tight hairpin???), I would double clutch it.
