Okay so my car has sat for almost a year now.Im finally able to finish my build but there is a few things i need to ask.

1.The new heads i picked up have low miles and came off a car that had ringland failures should i still have them machined?
2.My trans before it went down was acting up it wouldnt go into gear sometimes, if i launched it hard it wouldnt go into second. It only really acted up when it got hot after long drives and hard driving.Ive herd great things about royal purple trans fluid should i give that a try i know its not gonna fix my trans but id like to prolong the inevitable kaboom till my tax return when i can buy gears.

 

I would have the heads checked, its a couple hundred that gives you the insurance that your not pulling everything apart after you just put it together. But if you trust whomever you got em from you might want to chance it. As for trans fluid I cannot stress enough how much we like the redline shockproof gear lube for both the rear end and trans. It works amazing and uses fully synth. ester oil which is great for the abuse we show these cars. But nothing will fix bad syncros or worn teeth so cross your fingers.

Oh and what is the number do i need lol does trans oil go by weight like motor oil? sorry noob at that

see bob had that in his trans and diff and his ended up getting all messed up and he thinks it may have been because of the cocktail.Have you used it andy? Ive seen people talk about it on nasioc but i dont know anyone that has actually used it.Its not that much if you buy it through amazon it even comes up as a suggestion lol

 

andy uses the redline shockproof, im not a fan of the cocktail.

As. for the transmission for get all those transmission fluids just go to a subaru dealer ship and get the subaru extra s gear oil ( its the oil they use on sti transmission, its the same weight but so much better.) Im telling you swear by it, its bettrr that the synthetic fluid you buy and it will make a huge difference. Ive used in my legacy, wrx, impreza and forester. Trust me. It way better than the cocktail mix. If you ask anyone that used it they will tell you its a night and day difference. It will make the 5 speeds feel like new.
