As. for the transmission for get all those transmission fluids just go to a subaru dealer ship and get the subaru extra s gear oil ( its the oil they use on sti transmission, its the same weight but so much better.) Im telling you swear by it, its bettrr that the synthetic fluid you buy and it will make a huge difference. Ive used in my legacy, wrx, impreza and forester. Trust me. It way better than the cocktail mix. If you ask anyone that used it they will tell you its a night and day difference. It will make the 5 speeds feel like new.

Trust me i know what in talking about
The subaru fluid is good, but TRUST me, the redline with ester oil is better, ask anyone using it. I have built alot of subarus that have proven themselves in the trenches getting pounded on, redline shockproof is about the best fluid out for these transmissions. i dont like the cocktail either.

I dont have any experience with red line fluid but redline makes great products. The extra s is just what ive found to be the best that ive used and seen being a tech for subaru and working on them for years.

But this will give you 2options of fluid to try out and see what you like the best. Good luck with it. Hope all this helps some what

I use the extra S in my gearbox also with no issues. Have not tried shockproof.

i also use the extra s in my STi.....never had a problem and my trans has been brutally tested lol. I have also ran the redline shockproof in a couple of my WRX's with great results. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Shock proof and LSD additive for the rear, made for the shock put on the backlash, launching at 7300 with 17psi so the proof is inthe pudding.
