hta 35r and the 62/62 are both capable of 600+. There are cars making 700 whp+ on stock intake manifold. Actually Ron at axis made 700whp on stock sti heads and mani if my memory serves me correctly.

What did you run with last years setup?

STi heads > WRX heads

An intake mani will make the biggest difference when close to head efficiency. I'm not arguing semantics with you about who made what and i won't argue that claim because anything is possible with the right setup.

From what theory tells us about what a STi head will (bench) flow is that 650hp is about it without extensive modification, alternate fuels, or improving volumetric area for moving air, or making the head plain more efficiency.

As the new build progresses it's getting a lot more expensive.
The last motor i could only get about 530s out of her. Turns out the quench area and comp ratio weren't ideal and it was really prone to knock so i couldn't run shit for timing. It's under the knife again with some custom quench pistons and lowering the comp a cunt hair.

600+ is a big task....a lot say it's easy to do, but they're usually owners of shops. This is my private weekend car. I'm not sold on ridding of the 6262. I definitely don't want a HTA35R.
I might try the PT and if its no bueno then teh HTA86 is looking mighty fine.

^ what was the comp you were runing on the last setup? Quench?

Do you have any track passes on the old setup?

Quench area is piston surface area in relation to how it compresses air against the head. It was at 9.1-1.
I went increase compression to help the little 2.5 to spool the turbo...little did i know the internal setup wasn't up to par.

Nope didn't even bother taking it to the track. It was broken in, running decent, tuned, parked it right back in the garage, and then started tearing it apart later that week. I was so heated about it.

I would say even my old old setup with the stock EJ257, Rex heads w/ cams, and a FPRed would've taken it that setup to 120mph. The lag on the last setup was just unreal and plain dumb. I paid 6k more for a slower setup sweet.....

When you're rolling and hit antilag 3-step (FFS) in 2nd gear and slip off the clutch while holding boost and fall out of boost at 5500rpms there's a problem. hahaha
