Default gauge questions

So I apparently need some gauges.... few questions

1. So I'm looking at the AEM UEGO because everyone says its the best. Its listed as a 6 in 1 gauge.... but I cant really find what the 6 things are. Anyone know? Also any comments, remarks, etc on widebands would be appreciated. Other ones I was looking at: Prosport and PLX, thoughts?

2. I think 1 gauge would look silly, so I want to do boost, whats a good, cheap electronic boost gauge? I was thinking prosport (support the locals you know)

3. Mounting... I want to keep my clock pod (for time purposes). I dont like gauges on the pillar either... So I was thinking either the autometer surround on the cluster or buying Matt's clock pod and doctoring it up with pods (Import Image Racing: STRI Visor Gauge Pods (52mm & 60mm)). Thoughts on either? or any other mounting options?

Thanks.

IMO the gauge pod that is the most functional is the cluster surround. I personally have the cluster surround pod with my boost and fuel pressure, then I have my Uego in a single pod right on top of the steering column. It sits right in the middle of my tach and the only thing it blocks on the cluster is the little STi logo. I have had all the different pods but this is the most functional for me during track use. Its hard to keep an eye on the rpms then check boost/wide band on in the clock or pillar pod......then back to rpm's etc. By then you mis shifted lol.

as far as types of gauges, I love the AEM wideband. I have Prosport boost gauge and fuel pressure gauges but I don't recommend them. The fuel pressure gauge worked for about a week and hasnt worked since.......the boost gauge works ok but it is annoyingly loud when you first power on the car.....I have the peak series and it has a very loud long beep when you first power on the car

the only negative I forgot to mention is that the left gauge on the cluster surround blocks your gas low level light

I have to agree with this, my Prosport boost gauge isn't all too accurate and seems pretty slow reacting. Granted I don't have the premium series, but it was given to me as a thank you for working on a friend's car.

I will be slowly switching over to Defi Racer series of gauges. Main reason is that they are 52mm (Majority of gauge pods for the LGT are 52mm) and the white with red dial matches my LGT gauge cluster very well (even though I wish the new Advance CR line was in 52mm, would match my gauges even more). All Defis are very responsive and accurate from the research I've done, but they aren't cheap.

probably going with aem (seems to be the best for the price)

as far as boost I kind of want a digital read out, anyone ever use autometer gauges? more specially Auto Meter ?

I just bought a cluster bezel since that was my favorite option, and I'm_Slow is right about the line of sight while driving.

Just FYI, my Defi boost gauge is off a bit. It reads about 2psi high above 20 and is a little more accurate below that. I have been using it for about 4 years now and I bought it used, so it is getting old. I would certainly recommend Defi if one has the budget for them.

Why not go with the AEM Boost gauge so you have a uniform look? My brother runs these in his Evo (AEM boost and wideband) and has been happy with them. Aside from a bad LED in the wideband, which was promptly fixed, he has had no problems in 2 years of ownership.

How about you call me up and ill tell you how to turn the beeping off. It does tell you in the instructions. Other then that, i believe you never stoped by to swap out the fuel pressure sensor??
