Not a fan of the discs so I shyed away from the pioneer. I have the Kenwood 5120. It uses Garmin so all of it's updates are done "over the air." No discs to worry about. Plus it has great sound and the DVD works perfectly. I had a D1 and wasnt happy with it at all; this unit, albeit much newer, is also much better...

Kenwood. Uses the Garmin nav software, which is much easier to use than the Navteq that Pioneer and Alpine use. Also, try taking a look at Eclipse navigations at eclipse-web.com. I have a Kenwood and I love it. so much easier to use.
