where is the best place to get the stock short block? or maybe something already upgraded a bit? wasn't planing on anything too crazy but it would be nice since im already in there maybe save up a little more and get upgraded.

For a stock block, call Josh at Import Image Racing. Even for upgraded internals, call him. But if you want it already built, Raw Performance or Axis have very good feedback.

For a built short block, I'm going to throw out Homemade WRX on Nasioc. The man knows his shit and can build a great motor.

+1for Josh @ import image for the block. Again, depending on how much poweryou want and setup..... Getting a builtblock might be overkill. If you want some insurance just do a set of pistons. You don't have to worry about rods etc until your over500 whp

He was trying to get a job locally with his Mech. Engineering degree, but it ended up falling through, so he's still up in VA. He owns his own shop (3MI Racing) up in VA.

I have to say 500hp is probably the high end of my target. what is a rebuild at a place like s&r go for with some new pistons?

got around tear down this weekend im having a bitch of a time separating the motor from the tranny to get it out any suggestions?
