seriously you need to read up (and if you are read up than change your lingo)... PDK/SMG/DSG, etc etc are absolutely nothing like automatic transmissions. They are much closer to being a manual than an auto.

I get the "Oh I like a manual gearbox so I am doing the shifting myself" thing. I get it, I understand. But driving one of the aforementioned gearboxes isn't like driving an auto. They are much faster and leave no room for error. From a racing standpoint I would much rather have one in my car than a manual.

I actually don't care about having a slightly faster time; I care about having fun and enjoying myself. There is NONE of that unless you have a conventional manual. Any retard can flick paddles on a steering wheel or just plant their right foot down and steer. That's just not fun, even if it's faster and more consistent (which I realize it can be in some cars).

BTW, I miss you man! When are we going for pizza? I befriended the proprietor of a GREAT NJ/NY style pizza parlor near my place.
How about this weekend? I have a 4-day weekend and Sunday is my birthday. Text me.

sorry but when you are racing or high performance driving (actually having fun in your car), having a sequential gearbox means you have one less thing to worry about... and that makes it more fun.

I will agree with you. But that's also like saying that driving an old sportscar isn't as much fun as a new one. It's definitely a matter of opinion.

Just like some people prefer the smell, feel, sound and feedback of an old car, some prefer efficiency.

oh I completely agree. But to go around calling the systems crap and to say its no fun would go against that thought.
