It honestly doesn't seem all that worth it to me, sure it looks nice, but function>form.

its only helpful in the 600+ hp range. Until then, the stock isnt any restriction at all. You will loose not only torque, but throttle response.

I hate to disagree with you KAX (particularly because I just got my personal 2.0RST running) but there is more to an intake manifold design than restriction. Plenum volume and runner length are VERY important to performance. It's commonly accepted that plenum volume near double displacement is best on a turbo car - the stock plenum is closer to HALF the displacement of a 2.5. The stock runner length is LONG, which helps the bottom end but hurts the top. The shorter runners of the Cossie are more appropriate to 4500rpm+.

It "should" be a nice gain everywhere...

Hate to argue as well, since I know you know your stuff, but you sort of just contradicted yourself. it cant be a nice gain everywhere if its more appropriate for 4500+ rpm.

the plenum design is really to help overcome restrictions, but like I said, the stock setup isnt really a restriction until you get to a certain HP level.

ok, I've spent a few years playing with manifolds in an engine lab...

With a turbo motor, the flow losses ('restrictions') are less of an issue do to the pressure being present. However, tuning the reflective wave values (runner lenghts and diameter in relation to effective cam closed timing) and plenum volume have a much greater effect.

Yes, I am a true engine nerd (part of my degree and past job) and miss having my engine lab
