new to the suby

Default new to the suby

i was lookin on buyin a car and i saw a suby a 03 wrx for 10k with 66xxx miles on it and a wagon version for 8k wanted to know if its a good deal i always wanted a suby but didnt have the money but know i have 2jobs to pay for it.. wanted to know if its worth getting seen acouple of wagon nicely done need some help.. ill be trying to make 350 to 400hp with the car.. dont know anything about suby only honda so its a big jump lol.. thanks

If you have the money, you'll save in the long run by getting into an 04+ STi (only years they brought them stateside).

The stock tranny will be your worry spot. There are some that last at 400whp and some that break at 250whp. It's all in how you drive it. I'm not too sure about the USDM 2.0L and how much hp the stock motor can take, but I'm pretty sure it's less than what the USDM 2.5L can handle.

Stock for stock, yes, but the 2.0 is still a tough little block. But, OP, STi is better in every way.

yeahi know the sti is better but i havent found one yet and i need a car i cant change the tranny

if that tranny decides to go and you want to do the sti swap better hope you have over 4k laying around

on florida ave i saw a blue wrx not sure if it was sti or not cause i was driving by but it looked like on minus the wing on the trunk but it had the wing across the back window its on florida and sligh

yeah im going to go look at that one tomorrow or sometime this week.. 4k is cheaper then a kseries swap on a honda im doing a big jump.. so the tranny at 350 will give me problem even if a get a better clutch..?

You should go wagon! I <3 my wagon, you get people saying weird stuff. "Did the wagon ever come in 5spd?" or "Too bad the wagon never came turbo charged".
Plus all the looks from a wagon with a 4 inch can hanging off the back of it.
Love it.
