Meh... I'm interested in doing a lot of circuit track work with the stock motor... 350whp in an STi can easily exceed the capability of most drivers, so I'd like to get nice and bored with it before going over 500whp

repped for one of the bests posts ever

if you plan to go on an actual road course, the car runs through meth like crazy (because you are at full throttle/boost nearly the entire time). You would need an external reservoir with at least a 2 gallon capacity to be on the safe side. That's the reason I would personally go with the EWG over meth. Also because of the constant high temps and on and off throttle, the boost will want to spike more. I wish I had spent the money on an EWG when I had the car...

probably the only things left I wanted to do (power-wise) were a FMIC because you can definitely feel the heat-induced power loss after a few laps, EWG to be able to run a slightly more aggressive map, and maybe water-only injection just for cooling.

yeah and almost all of those people buy HP instead of skill. When you are out there it is very easy to tell who is compensating. It is much more satisfying to be quicker in a slower car than to just constantly blow by people because you have a million horsepower.

^ I agree with both of you -- I don't think LD is saying that power and skill can't go together...

for a light-to-light, low-end and mid range monster, a highly boosted VF series is awesome. My spool was ridiculously low, and I know that with a certain few mods I could have improved it even more.

And the car's purpose will be street, but I also want to learn to drive the shit out of it... hence the trackwork comment. If I was posting on building the perfect track car, I would have mentioned suspension, motor, turbo, brakes, weight, etc.

anyway, why not EWG and meth?
