Nice. I've got an ACT 6-puck going in my car on Thursday. Can't wait to get my car back. It's been two and a half months since I drove it last
. I've driven the 6-puck before, and honestly I expected it to be a LOT worse. Sure, it shudders a bit, leaving the line in first, but it's hardly unbearable.
Btw, the street disc does NOT hold 550 wtq. With the heavy-duty pressure plate, ACT rates it at 515 ft-lbs -crank-, so low-400's wtq. If you go with the Xtreme Duty pressure plate, that bumps the holding capacity up to 566 ft-lbs, but then you've got a very heavy clutch pedal (no thanks). I had the same dilemma (as I'm already at 440 wtq, which is right on the border of being too much for the street di
, but settled on the 6-puck because I know it can take whatever I throw at it.

Oh, and I'm still on just the VF43 (upgrading to a dom3-size turbo soon hopefully), and I haven't driven it in a while because the cyl 4 ringlands gave out before I went back to school, so the car had to sit in Tampa while I worked out what I was going to have done, who was going to do it, and how I was going to pay for it. It's at Real Street Performance right now being pit back together (motor is built, just waiting on the clutch and upgraded oil pickup). Should have it some time next week.

^ i'm not argguing the fact that the 6 puck will outperform the street disc.......that is obvious just from the tq rating. As far as the clutch pedal "feeling" any heavier or a 6 puck being an easier clutch pedal than the street disc.......it depends on the pressure plate used.
If you are comparing the 6 puck hd vs the street disc xt then you are correct. I assumed you were referring to the 6 puck XT vs the Street disc XT.
I think I am going to go with the 6 puck HD, that way I don't have to worry about replacing the clutch any time soon.

Ah, nope. I don't think anyone on here would need the 6 puck with the xtreme pressure plate, lol.
I'm going with the same clutch for that same reason. My only worry is just that pucked, composite clutches never handle stop and go DD use as well as organic clutches. Sure, the replacement discs are fairly cheap, but it's still not something I want to have to change every 20k miles.
