today was very dissapointing....
decided today was going to be my day to install my perrin inlet since my stock one was torn. let me say this was by far the worst project i have ever tried. no only was it a tight fit, the inlet simply did not fit. i actually had to trim it because it was too long, the hard power steering line would not line up, the bov hose would not go on yada yada. took me a total of 4 hours to finish. then i fire her up and what do i find........fuel spraying out from under my manifold on the drivers side. i have had a strong fuel smell everywhere i go for about a month, little did i know it's been spraying all over in my engine bay this whole time. i finally felt done after the inlet and now i get to go spend a bunch of money at mastro since i can't tackle this because i have finals this next week. hooray for me!
should have pm'd me i could have knocked it out in like 30 mins tops... so do you know where its spraying fuel from? it could be an easy fix and you could save money

sounds like it could be an injector not seated correctly. Could be as simple as it didnt click in, or the o ring could be bad (possibly squished in sideways or folded or something).

theres a 4-6" piece of fuel line right underneath where the inlet goes through the manifold... i'd bet you somehow cut it during the install... easiest way to install another piece of fuel line is to pull the manifold. should take no more than an hour with the right tools. i wouldn't pay mastro $300-500 for such a simple job.

its on the drivers side, so it has nothing to do with my inlet install, plus its smelled horribly like fuel for a while now. its not an o-ring either, its spraying from under the abiss between the throttle body and injector area. right around the middle of the right side. its definately coming from a line but i can't see a thing.
+1 for calling S&R. Things like this are the perfect time to call a shop with professional technicians who will also treat you fairly.

what year is your WRX?
the 2002's leak in the cold weather unless they had the fuel rail recall done

its an 02, problem is is that the car used to have mrt rails on it but I put some stock ones back on about 8 months ago. so i know this leak is more than likely my fault. it just didn't leak for the first several months. I have a feeling it's just a loose hose but I really don't feel like pulling that manifold off again. that is unless someone wants to lend a hand on a weekend or something....
I would if you weren't in clearwater. There are a couple of places on the fuel rail where a rubber hose is connecting hardline, definitely possible you knocked something off. I've taken my manifold off so many times I find it no harder than changing my filter
. But the fuel rail was always the problem until I eventually bent it and broke it off from having to move it out of the way. Aftermarket fuel rails help a great deal at that point.
And Erick, it wasnt a recall, it was a TSB. They still charged you about $300 in labor. (insert angry face)

are those the newer versions of the stock rails installed at the dealership? or the 02 rails from the factory?
you probably need the newer versions...it's been cold out

also PM my buddy Ken (Fat Angel), he might be willing to assist with pullng that manifold for minimal fee
