possible issue
car was tuned by scott siegel. car runs great. tuned for 20.5 pounds of boost. my prosport premium boost gauge always read 100% accurate. Well, i decided do push the car a bit. Havent done it lately, trying to save gas. my boost gauge is reading 22 pounds. i doubt that its reading wrong, should I be worried? Im supposed to be taking the car back to scott for a fine-tune, but im really tight on money. what are so possible causes of this? Wastegate getting stuck? any help would be appreciated, thanks guys.

colder weather means youre probably boosting higher... colder the air the more dense it is
^^^ Ding ding ding.
I don't know how many people ask me about that lately.

well that could very well be it, being that it started happening right when we started getting colder air. but i heard anything over 21 pounds could be dangerous for a stock motor. should i worry?

If Scott tuned you, you should be money.
You need to invest in a wideband if you don't have one. Should be a day1 mod like the 255fp.
It's all in the tune man.
Edit: There is no magic PSI number. That number could be 10psi with a Dom3 and a shotty tune. I mean it's an STi your ringlands are due to give anyhow.

its definately the colder weather making it boost higher
im not sure what scott may have set the boost cut at, normally the tuner would set a boost cut at something safe for the motor (maybe a 2psi over mapped)
the ecu will try to adjust for over boosting. it could be part to do with the compensations for intake temps and wastegate.
does it hold the higher boost or does it kind of taper down at higher rpms.
this would be something to bring to scotts attention when tuning since he can only tune at the temperatures for that day.
it should still be safe as long as the car is not leaning out.

If the wastegate got stuck you would know. You would have a headache after slamming your head on the steering wheel after you hit boost cut
