So today i throw a new exhaust on the car and finally get to drive the car WOT. So i do a few runs, YAY everything works. All the sudden i shift from 1st to 2nd hard pull and i hear a loud pop. Clutch pedal falls to the floor. Me and kyle pull the top mount and shifter boot. Looking inside the throw out bearing separated from the pressure plate. Pulling the tranny tomorrow and calling south bend clutchs monday. Ive never seen this before. WTF WTF WTF

 

that's really weird -- sounds like a defective throwout bearing?? have them cryo the next one for free!!

south bend are modified OEM units, proprietary surface material on an Exedy unit. I'm sure that they'll be sorry and helpful, but it's not their fault (directly)!

 

DAMN! Thats shitty bro...bet it felt good b4 that shat happened...Im stock exhaust driving home and a ricer in a GS-t blew off at me like crazy hah figures

 

well if they sold me a faulty throw out bearing id hope they would replace it.
