the only thing i have against the stocker is it doesn't sound as cool.

"that car sounds fast"- mustang effect

not fast, but sounds fast.

note: I have nothing against mustangs other than they sound like they're fast but they aren't. Lots of experience mopping up stangs with my cammed ls1--- only one to give me trouble was a newer model cobra with whipple charger--- YIKES

update--- trip to orlando--- NO CEL

that's about 200 miles of FUN driving...

i bought an a/f ratio gauge that runs off the back o2 sensor-- it's not a wideband but it's better than nothing.

I've found the pinout, but where is connector b135??? i know we tap the white wire that's in slot 17--- but where is the connector??

after bench testing it, the voltages won't work.

The ecu layout i used referred it to b135 pin 17

This is what I bought

I tested the a/f I got from the store on a bench, and it didn't work. I tapped the lines according and ran it identical as directed. Why is it that some work and some don't?

All the unit did was light up once, flash a lil bit, then fade away. Worthless. My car still runs ok, i hope it didn't fry the ecu

here's the diagram i used-- b135 pin 17 is the signal wire for rear o2 sensor that would send data to the o2 sensor. however, i don't know what is different about our system- but it just doesn't work. I'll be returning it as I installed it properly and it did not work, showing signs of malfunction. I suspect the reason is that the wideband data still exists even in the rear o2 sensor, and that's why it doesn't work?? Just a guess, but why doesn't it work?

Anyone got a used wideband for sale

to be completely honest man. i see your enthusiasm and that you like to work on cars, but maybe for your first few things you should take it to a shop and watch a subaru mechanic do it. just looking up diagrams online and posting up charts and stuff doesnt mean that everything is going to come out right.

thats what I've always done. Always had an experienced friend help me with installs, and when he moved away finally started doing stuff on my own. For the more complicated things and custom fabrication, I've started taking my car to Mike over at S&R performance. I usually stay with the car and watch how things are done so hopefully one day I will be able to do it myself.

That is a great way to learn installation tricks, how-to's and so forth. Thanks for sharing your advice and helping me out through this whole thing. I am excited to get tuned, it will be interesting. Hopefully, I can complete the other mods in preparation for the tune. I've done plenty in the past week. My garage looks like a rats nest but i know where every tool is.

ld--- your wagon is sweet man! that is a great pic in your siggy as well. what track is that? florida??

Get r done

sebring

if you want to experience what its like go down there this weekend. Since it is a chin motorsports event all you have to do is pay $20 and then you can ride with any instructor or advanced solo. My dad is there this weekend but unfortunately I am not, still need to get some stuff sorted out with the car
