another great day at S&R today. Mike did a fantastic job porting the TGVs, welded up the holes where the motor and bar went through as well. They were smooth to the touch, and I can tell it was a very good decision to bring it to them again. He also did some wire rearranging and such, so from now on removing the intake manifold will be a breeze! If you have pulled yours multiple times I highly recommend taking it to him just to have him work his magic! Now I just need to get tuned and I'll be back on the track again!

i hope the porting was too smooth... you want it slightly rigid thats where the air and fuel mix

lol.... up until the transmssion failures I did everything. I did the injectors right before my tune, which is what caused this problem in the first place. I don't trust myself to do:
engine work
tranny work
ECU work
and pulling the intake manifold, porting out TGVs, making everything smooth but rough in the right place, welding up the holes, etc... is not in my expertise. The things like the turbo, exhaust, swaybars, coilovers, brakes, etc I all did.

didnt mean to call you out or anything, just wanted to know.
I prefer to do everything myself the first time. Stuff like TGVs are small enough to where, if I mess up, I'm only out a few $100, but it's worth the experience for trying. I agree that welding the holes I wouldnt expect to be done by yourself, but there are other ways to seal it that you could easily do yourself.
Best way to learn about your car is to get your hands dirty. I bet you know alot about how your suspension works from doing it all yourself. I just think it would be a good idea for you to delve into a few other things. Its fun!

well whenever I take the car in I stay with it the whole time watching what he is doing (whether or not that annoys him I have no idea lol)... Also I really don't have anything up here in orlando. I bought like a 100piece tool kit and called it a day. Although I do need to buy a drain pan and filter removal tool lol, oil needs to be changed desparately
