No. The STI is still better than the 09 WRX in every way. No one is going to buy a WRX if they can afford an STI. The only way STI sales will drop is if the WRX starts getting STI parts, which is why youll never see a 6MT WRX like LD said.

I'm curious as to what turbo they put into the WRX to boost the power. I could see a VF-39 as it brings commonality across the Impreza model line.

It wouldnt surpirse me if it was the VF40 from the LGTs actually. The 08 WRXs used the same plastic intake manifold and TMIC from the Legacy, just with the smaller TD04. I doubt they changed it.

Oh and the VF39 hasnt been used since the 05 STi.

LOL, VF-43

But I think the first year of the 43 was in '07.

Ahhhh I got confused then. I was thinking VF-42 but remembered that was the turbo in the S204, which makes it twin scroll. Makes sense.

A quick blurb I found about it:
The VF43 turbo is only available on the '07 STI's. The 04-06 STI's came with the VF39 turbo - they were prone to cracking and boost creep. The VF43 supposedly has more resistance to cracking and it also has a bigger hotside (WG). This also helps prevent boost creep.
All in all, this is a better turbo upgrade than a VF39 for earlier model turboed Subaru's, for WRX owners who are doing an STI swap, or for STI owners returning to stock.

i think that would depend on the price diffrence and also having the option for sedan instead of wagon

Everything I've read so far is saying that the price for the WRX will stay the same. Which is darn cool.

I still think they should have taken the 04-05 style wagon and turned it into the STi "hatch" they have now. Big ass fender flares, the large scoop, all that. It would have looked hawt.
