i just recently hit 50.000 miles, and was wondering what maintenance so i have to do to a 05 sti.

please if anyone can help me out, i would rather do it my self then have a dealer do it for me

i just need to know the main things. so far nothing is wrong with my car. just need to know what to do at 50.000 miles

there should be a maintenance schedule in your owners manual with all the intervals and such.... i'd pull it up for you but it would be just as fast to flip through the book.

 

IIRC its 60K you need to worry about.

Yeah, this is what it says for 60k:

Recommended Inspection Fuel systems, lines and connections
Replace Fuel filter
Inspect Drive belt(s) [Except camshaft]
Inspect Camshaft drive belt
Replace Engine oil
Replace Engine oil filter
Replace engine coolant and inspect cooling system, hoses and connections
Replace Air cleaner element Inspect Transmission/Differential (Front & Rear) lubricants (Gear oil)
Inspect Automatic transmission fluid Replace Brake fluid
Inspect Disc brake pads and discs, front and rear axle boots and axle shaft joint portions
Inspect Brake linings and drums
Inspect brake lines and check operation of parking and service brake system
Inspect Clutch operation
Inspect Steering and suspension
Recommended Inspection Front and rear wheel bearing lubricant
Rotate and Inspect Tires
Replace Spark plugs Replace Spark plugs

 

You are overdue for the 45,000 mile service:

Every fluid in the vehicle gets replaced besides the coolant.
Tire rotation and a major inspection.
