Clutch install woes
yeah homemade, basically the pin was catching on the tranny on the other end after going through the clutch fork.. i got under the car and hit it pretty hard with a mallet and it moved it enough to free it so it would slide easily the rest of the way.

For future reference for anybody:
-Leave the clutch fork off of the throwout bearing, but snap the bearing into the pressure plate fingers before putting the trans on.
-Ziptie the fork up so it doesn't interfere with anything.
-Put the transmission on (I have secret technician's trick
)
-Fish the throwout fork fingers into the bearing.
-Slide the pin in, bolt the cap on.
It works soooo much easier this way than the snap-in way. Take my word for it next time you do a clutch job.

yeah thats actually how i did it with the whole clutch assembly and throwout bearing together. but i slid the fork onto the bearings fingers before completely shutting the tranny and engine gap so that it was easier to see the fingers to get the fork on. this is my 3rd subaru tranny install and i learn a hellova lot with every install. i think i've got most of the kinks worked out now and it should be a much quicker ordeal next time. thanks for the tips tho bro!
