hold on...first put a 2x4 before jacking up the engine via oil pan...you can get plenty of pitch with the mounts still connected.

Also try twising the driveshaft when sliding the trans on...should slide on like butter.

I've had several hang up like you are describing and this is the first thing I check...always has worked.

I will try... it is acting like one of the studs is bent, though. I'll keep everyone posted.... safe to jack on the oil pan even with a piece of wood?

well, I've never jacked it up really...for me the car is usually on a lift and I use a screw jack with a 2x4 between it and the oil pan...spreading the load across the surface area. I then just pivot the engine (hence leave it bolted down) so that it tilts downward toward the tranny.

you can jack up the engine a little, with the piece of wood. But dont do it to much. It will make the engine raise and tilt at a angle a little. Makes it much easier

we finally got the engine and tranny to mate up. now we're having a hellova time getting the clutch fork pin in.... it goes in like halfway and then seems like its stuck and wont go any further. i dont understand wtf is happening, i made sure the clutch fork was properly inserted into the throwout bearing before getting everything back together... anyone had this problem?

edit: its going through the fork and getting stuck on the otherside. tried spraying it with some silicon to lube it to no avail...

are you turning the pin? it has an alignment notch on it (slides in on the far side) to keep it from turning.

It would also be further than half way though.

can't turn it... the damn thing came out very easily, so its reasonable to think that it should go in easily. any ideas other than this?
