Curing of powdercoating occurs at around 390 degrees Fahrenheit
i have had my brakes at the track above 450 degrees (my laser temp gauge stops at 450) after a cooldown lap and the time it takes to pull in the pits. The wheels will be fine, especially seeing as the curing process only takes 10 minutes.

i only was a machinist and dealt with all different kinds of metals and their properties
It has been proven that the oven "can" weaken the wheels. The weakening of wheels may or may not affect some cars, but some cars have had their wheels crack on the track. I have searched and found people that have had cracked rims because of this. You can't say powder coating is 100% reliable can you? Either way, no matter what you say I think it can cause problems and I therefore won't use it. That's why I asked about painting.

heating isnt what "damages" the metal its how it was cooled down... you heat treat metal to make them stronger....
