Default possibly looking to pick up a wrx or sti

I know that the STI is the racing version and contains no luxuries but how much more do you get with it than a wrx? is it worth buying a wrx and building it strong than buying an STI?

lol... here comes the can of worms...

How good are you with cars?

My preference is the STi, having worked on both it and the regular WRX. The other thing is that the STi is faster out of the box; it all depends on the extent of mods you want to go to. I would say because of the suspension, VCD, wheels, look, HP, 6 speed (stronger than the 5 speed), brakes, etc... That the STi is the superior platform unless you go nuts with the mods.

Just my $.02

STI doesnt have less luxuries than the wrx. It has better brakes, better wheels, a stronger transmission, and more power

case in point, if you can afford an STI dont even think of getting a wrx.

save your money and get the STi.....

to build a "wrx strong" like an STi means at minumum a $4000 transmission
and $3000 motor, not counting any adds to make it faster.

... you get the idea.

just get the STi... better brakes, tires, wheels, chassis, to boot

I agree with the tranny part.. but 3k for a motor, why? for different heads? The 06-07 have 2.5 liters.

Also the 06-07 4 pot brakes are pretty nice too. So if you can find an 06-07 for atleast 6k less than Sti and want to work on your car then its worth it, if not go for the sti if you can afford it (and the insurance).
