Timing Belt
I'm coming up on the replacement interval for my 03' WRX and I was wondering how hard it is to do yourself. I've rebuilt engines, swapped turbos ect. so it 's not that I don't think I can do it but I was wondering if it's worth it to take to the dealer and have them do it. I'd like to keep costs down as much as possible and do a water pump at hte same time too. Does anyone know off hand how much it is to have the dealer do it and what else I should change while I'm in there.
I know that we charge $398.00 for the timing belt, that is parts and labor. While your in there it's good to take a look at all the idlers, cam seals, and crank seal.

No, I'm not crazy. Let me ask you, how long do you think it will take you? Once again, can you warranty your work? And last but certainly not least are you a senior certified Subaru master tech? Honestly, if it was my car, I would have it done by a professional, not some guy down the block.

bro its a fuckin timing belt. why would you need to warranty a god damn timing belt. and it would take me less then 10 min to do it. now let me ask you something. how long would it take you. let me guess 3 hours. dont be mad because i wont charge him for labor. you seem upset because you wont get your 250$ worth of labor money. and i promise you i can do more work on a suby then any senior master certified mech tech.
