i've had both ssauto tmic and fmic. I have been runnin the fmic at 21 psi for about 6-7 months now and I think it works great. Def. not more lag. Lag is all in the tuner, and snowman can vouch for me here. My car pulls way harder with the fmic than it ever did with the tmic. Just my 2 cents.

 

heres some info to read about on ebay fmic sets. dyno plots and proven info that they arent as good as brand name fmic. they are made better quality. there isnt a big difference in the amount of power made, its the air temps that the intercooler is making that will make you think twice about purchasing one.

Sure if you were to run an ebay intercooler on a car pushing 643 hp on race gas you are surely a dumbass. Of course he would see a difference. He also does not specify which intercooler it is. SSAUTOCHROME is a brand that has been around for a long time, especially in the dsm world. They cannot be compared to all ebay intercoolers, because they are not all the same. But for people pushing a vf34, vf30, 16g, or 18g in the 300hp range, ss intercoolers are more than enough. Sorry faded but I have to disagree with a post trying to compare apples to oranges.

 

i also remember reading that article and i believe burshur core were much bigger than the ebay. and at 643 i would expect the bigger core to produce more power with better cooling.

 

that thread had a lot of bs in it. There was a lot of variables that wer questionable.

 

why do you think SSAuto is so much cheaper than everyone else?? Probly because the quality of product is WAY below that of brand name?? I wouldnt use one of these IC's period BUT if I had to then I wouldnt use one over 300-340whp. I would use a sti tmic before a SSAuto fmic.

 

ok so here is the latest on the SSauto fmic, imma be looking for another kit not because the SSauto is not a good intercooler but because SSautochrome Inc. SUCKS ASS!!!!! they got the worst customer service in the bussiness. i placed the order on monday the 3rd and till this day they never processed it. so it wasnt placed or even taken off my credit card. sent them emails for answers and nothing. an F*ing week and no answer. so i decided to change my credit card number instead so just incase they decide to take some money of my account for the kit,they wont be able to. i dont recomend them to anyone,worst customer service ever. they SUCK!! SSautoGarbage FTL! Thank you! lol

 

exactly, you get what you pay for. there is a reason why it is SO much cheaper. the quality is not the same.

purchase it if you want but i have seen so much garbage from SSAutoCrap over the years. did you guys see the pics of their turbo's to where they glue them together? follow the reputation of the company and youll see why you can only buy this garbage on ebay. you wont find too many shops or vendors putting their name behind this company and sell for them.....

 

how? the car never was removed from the dyno. no mods or anything was changed in the EM.
