Need some help...I just started hearing some strange noises under my hood. It sounds like a leak but I can not tell. It sounds like a sputtering noise. It's around the turbo and up pipe. You can hear it when you get on it and also when it's idling. Can someone please help pin point this problem.

leak? check your vacuum lines around there and see if the gaskets around your uppipe and turbo are leaking

i think it's the gasket in the up pipe. I noticed to day when I was trying to pull off the heat shield on the up pipe that it smelled like fuel and felt some air. I couldn't tell too much because I couldn't get the heat shield off because the bolts were too high and i did not have an extension. when I get a chance i will pull everything off to make sure. can you tell if there is a crack in up pipe or header? thanks for responding.

 

could be your wastegate too.. i had a fluttering noise also and had it checked out they said it was normal

 

its deff. some kind of leak you can smell a strong gas smell and here like a back fire under the hood
