i think ecutek is garbage because it cost so much when you can do open source.. its a little better the gui(sp?) but not worth it in my opinion... if im spending that much money im going to run a standalone hydra ftw
I would agree that Snowman (Jeff) is absolutely an awesome tune.. He takes his time, talks you through the whole process (As he is working on his mapping), and makes a tune based upon your parts and what your looking for as an end result.. it's 100% safe, and reliable. After tune care/support is also a phone call away! Lastly you can't meet a nicer, and knowledgeable guy either!!

yea but youre also getting something not just using a software... and you dont get locked out also not to mention all the other goodies you get with owning a hydra standalone you can tune the car soo much better if you know how to use it
these small time systems worry me. honda started coming out with all these cheap tuning systems such as uberdata, chrome, ect and then come to find out in the end, the car isnt running to way that they should.
to me i guess it really depends on the setup. if i have basic intake/exhaust, the smaller time systems would be ok but im running upgraded turbo, meth, and all the other goodies, i want something that i know i can rely on and is covered by factory warranty. ive seen some of these cars run on these free software tuning and they dont seem to run as strong as one with something like an Ecutek, Ap, Cobb.

if you plan on making serious power down the road (400+) is where I normally will tell someone to get off the factory ECU....yes, the stock ecu can go higher but the standalone will be safer, have finer resolution for better drivability and you can make more power...as well as nice tools and features that come with standalone systems.

i dont know how to use it so Hydra would do nothing for me. i like Ecutek because it stays OEM. i try to stay OEM as possible because it always seems to run better. also with the Ecutek EZ tune, maps can be emailed to you and loaded into your ecu within a matter of minutes.
