private party... ?

i would just ask that the installer guarantee his work, in case his workmanship caused a part failure, or in case something loosened up under the car, became misaligned and caused damage

... that is what I will ask

thanks for the contacts guys

Default why?

Why does subaru advise agaisnt turning the flywheel? I had mine done a while back because the previous owner of my car couldnt drive a manual for shit. I changed the clutch, pressure plate, and had the flywheel resurfaced ive never had any problems or codes or anything.

^ so Subaru and the dealer will warranty the work that Garret does outside of work and on his own free time? Why does this sound unbelievable to me? Not trying to be dick but I just want to know how that is possible. Seems like a liability issue on Subaru and the dealers end. If it is true though then that is baller

garrett does the work at the dealership. and as far as that "warranty" on a clutch at the dealer, its going to be real specific as to what the problem is, they are not difficult to install, it dosent take a genious to get a job at a car shop. it just takes you actually trying it or helping 1 time then you get the hang of it. kassanova lifted my engine and did my clutch in my driveway. works perfect. there is always going to be a possibility something happens. if someone is doing it cheap id look at it as they are helping you out and its not easy, so throwing them some cash is worth the help, not that they are entirely responsibe if something happens. you need to help them and pay attention and double check things as you go along.

my car works just fine...in fact i just gave him my legacy gt to fix the problematic auto transmission ...
how is a 7 year subaru tech who works on the everyday going to mess up a simple clutch install. not garrett

being friends with him helps...next step, i get a new auto tranny for free...then if that doesnt work, subaru buys my car back...its always good to know the right people.

If i could just point one thing out! installing a clutch is idiot proof. You really cant mess things up. All you do is take the shity one off, line up the new one and bolt it right up. Its freakin easy.....

I understand how most ppl would be scared but thats the risk you take. I honestly dont even trust techs at mastro to touch my car. The only person who can is jeff!

im allways down to install a clutch, or tranny. Ill even go out of my way to ship it if its going to andrew! and i promise you ill beat pretty much anyones price.
