Exclamation another engine question

ok i fount a might of fount a 2.5 sti block for around 500 but its been in a accident he says theres no marks on the block he has no idea what kind of condition the pistions and rods are in any suggestions would help or if any one know of someone looking to get rid of one with a decent price let me know

if it's just the block and its been in a accident you shouldn't have an issue unless it was a major front end wreck...

are you planning on building the motor or just trying to do a slap together hybrid?

slap that mofo thats what i have but seriously if you can get the whole thing bottom and top end DO IT youll be much happier

doing a hybird is my route i dont think it was a major wreck cause the block has no scratchs on it or anything. maybe later ill get the sti head or smething but right now all i can afford is the block

the guy who is selling it said the crash cause the timing belt to break but thats all he knows that happen

for the money he is chargeing, id take the risk and pick it up! if the engine wasnt toched from the crash it should be ok. As far as the timming belt breaking not sure what to think about that. is the pulley's bent?

if the timing belt snapped piston most likely met valve...so you would have some scarred pistons and bent valves in the head...

ya i was thinking that but for the money there asking for the block i could get new valves which cant be to much and new pistions if needed which are like 400 or so but thats what im thinking

its also out of a 05 sti this will fit in my 03 right?????? and the pulley is not broke
