Default Crushed BPV

Has anyone here ever modded their stock BPV by crushing the top of it? I;ve hear its supposed to hold more boost than the stock one and give you a better sound as well. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I have a crushed WRX BPV laying in my room right now. I don't know about how much boost it can hold as I am only seeing 18.5psi, but it does surge at low psi just like that thread on nasioc says. I'm running the stock WRX BPV right now as I didn't like the surging sound.

Its been a few days since this thread was posted, and I said the same thing in another thread a long time ago but...

Would you rather spend about $150 on a different BOV/BPV, or $800 on a new turbo after your crushed stock valve blows up the compressor wheel from surge?

i've seen many people crush their stocker. really all you're doing is pushing the spring in a little more, but if you go too far that's where the surge comes from. it really doesn't take muach and you should go a little at a time. just like any aftermarket bov/bpv but you can't go backwards.

a friend of mine did the drilling thing, and he said he got horrible surge.
