lol at Paul. And I here jestr is sick with Subies also.

Wow, I expected a more variety of answers, seems like everyone is sticking with the first tuner that touched their car. It is such a bond and trust when you hand the keys over of your pride and joy to someone who could easily destroy it by making a mistake

dominic acia...from getadomtune.com
he's excellent at several interfaces, has been tuning cars with nose and ears for 15 years (of course uses egt's and widebands now)...he also will turn wrenches and swap out parts if he feels he can get you a better setup...or may have a issue (jumped timing, vacuum leak, exhaust leak, etc...)
he also knows his shit and is a great guy.

well, i was tuned by doug before SS. I had a very unsatisfying tune from Doug. I thought the car was running strange after he had touched the car. Also, his tuning only took about an hour. I decided to hold off having fun driving the car and wait for the almighty SS (1st time). When SS did a couple of pulls, he immediately stopped the car and looked at me. He said "Who the hell tuned your car?!" I said, "Doug." He was so shocked that he called Doug out on it and Doug had no response. SS had said that my motor was tuned as if i had a 30-35r. I was tuned way to strong. He started over and tuned my car for a good 8hrs to fix my problems. After multi resets on fuel duty cycles and timeing changes, the car came out smooth.

Now some might say, well, SS wanted to have his very own map. No, he made that clear to me. He went through maps of different cars and showed me one similar to doug's. He had pulled up a FP red map, that wasnt at full potential with all supporting mods. My map was just shy of how that car was tuned. Thus, i never went with doug again.

Doug has done some awesome things, But if you dont have a huge setup, think about it before you use Doug. Doug will tune the hell out of a 30, 35, 40r though. If i go that route, i might go back to doug for that tune. Ask vtec2sti, he will tell you whats up. When you run mid 11's with a 35r and first time at the track...Doug FTW.

At heart, SS will be my tuner. For how much money i have dedicated to his services, i will not change.

im not saying ss is bad or anything... actually total opposite i think he does great work and definitely know his shit... but he didnt just wake up one day and become a famous subaru tuner....

there was that one person that gave him a "chance" and then another and so on... and i feel thats what i did among many other with jeff... i took my car and put it in his hands and what came out of it? great results and a guy thats willing to come to my house on easter to lend a hand and to walk me through something at crazy hours in the am... and this isnt his profession its his way of helping out the locals which is nice

im not trying to turn this into battle of the tuners im just simply stating the facts of why i choose to stay with jeff as a tuner...
